Falling Star Academy is set on a man-made island, which is quite large. With it's various types of land and climates, it is able to host a wide variety of Pokemon from several regions making it an ideal place for people who want to become a trainer, but don't quite have the confidence or motivation to explore an entire region. The many different biomes allow one to do plenty of exploration while not having to go very far, and will hopefully get them used to the idea of actually traveling through a region one day. The most notable feature of the island itself is that it is actually in the shape of a five-pointed star. Valeria Saren, who established the Academy and serves as the headmistress, named it "Falling Star Academy" because she likes to think of the academy as a place that grants the wishes of its various students...just like how people occasionally make a wish when they see an actual falling star.
In what is known as the Central Area, the main school building and staff dormitories are located. With the possible exception of the Alpina Ruins, the school is easily the largest building on the island. A Pokemon Lab is also located here, and is it there that students will go to receive their starter Pokemon.
There are also five dorms, each one representing one of the five Japanese elements, and located in a different area of the island. There's the Air Dorm to the north, the Water Dorm to the south, the Fire Dorm to the east, the Earth Dorm to the southeast, and, finally, the Void Dorm to the southwest.

It was roughly two days after the first classes had started up, and taking advantage of the free time that he had managed to obtain, he decided to take a little stroll with Chompers, Mega and his new friend Shadow, the Ghastly. The destination of the stroll was never really determined, as Glacio just walked aimlessly until he came across a mildly quiet field that was rocky in some areas yet flat in others. It was here that Glacio had decided to stop walking and sat down, somewhat meditating as he talked with hie Pokemon, attempting to keep up with how they felt.
After about an hour of almost pure silence once he had finished talking with his Pokemon, aside from Mega humming in Glacio's lap and Ghastly doing his regular Ghastly things, it was all good and quiet for him, as Glacio had also felt like while he had physically done nothing, he had somewhat strengthened his bond with his party of Pokemon. A few moments later, after the approximate hour had passed, he had heard a rustling of the bushes, and Curiously, he opened his eyes and called out," Hello? Who's there?"
OOC: I just listed his current party in case this did turn into a battle thread
note: for the battle, she will be using are Poliwag, Mareep and Mienfoo Akira had been, as she usually does in times of boredom and/or having nothing to do, wandering aimlessly, this time checking out the craggy fields near the Earth Dorm. It kind of astounded her how these fields were so similar to the Solidago Fields, yet so completely different. At first glance, they seemed virtually identical, but the deeper into the Watsonia Fields one got, the more noticeable the difference became. Maybe one of these days, she'd come out here to look for a decent Rock-type. However, at the moment, she was merely here to kill some time. Hunting for wild Pokemon just wasn't on the agenda at the moment.
As she wandered, she heard a voice call out, apparently asking who was there. So it would seem she wasn't the only one out here. Looking over to Gracio and his Pokemon, she smile softly "Sorry, didn't mean to bother you." Now that she had the chance, she looked the trainer over a bit, before speaking once more. "Say...now that I think about, I'm pretty sure I've seen you around. Are you in the Water Dorm, by any chance?" She waited quietly for an answer, while looking over the two Pokemon that were out. The sight of the Gastly sent a chill down the back of her spine, though the Aron was strangely adorable as it sat in Gracio's lap. And the Totodile was also rather nice. All in all, he seemed to have a decent team so far.
At the sight of the somewhat new face, Glacio's face brightened a bit, and he replied," It's not a bother at all, just surprised to see someone else is here to be honest. Though, to answer your other question, yes, I am from the water dorm as well. And these are my little roommates." The white haired male pointed to each of his Pokemon as he called out their names," This is my Totodile, his name is Chompers, for reasons rather obvious. This little Aron, who is currently pinning me to the ground is Mega, and my little floating friend is Shadow. I have a few more Pokemon, but I left them in the dorm room to rest for the day."
And with that, he moved the the little Aron off of his legs with some difficulty, only to realize that he would have to enjoy the small Aron while he could, as his evolutions were not any lighter. Once he had successfully moved Mega, Glacio rose slowly, as to avoid causing himself nausea. Now standing with his Chompers attached to his head, he then spoke to Akira with his out stretched for a handshake," I guess proper introductions are in order since we are dorm mates. I'm Glacio Blaze. What's your name friend?"
Akira smiled as Gracio introduced each of his Pokemon. She was quite familiar with Aron, or rather it's final evolution, as one of her mothers, Misaki, owned and battled quite a bit with an Aggron. She got to see it in action quite a lot when she was younger, so it held a bit of a special place in her heart. In fact, she hoped to own eventually...though, admittedly, she kind of had her hands full with the Pokemon she was raising right now. She wanted to raise them a bit before going out to add any more to her somewhat large collection. All in all, she was quite pleased with the Pokemon she had right now.
Then, taking a note from Gracio, she decided to send out each of her own Pokemon to introduce to him. A Poliwag, Rhyhorn, Mareep, Mienfoo, Pidgey and shiny Tepig emerged from their balls. The Poliwag and Tepig greeted the Gracio and his Pokemon cheerfully. The others, while still pleased to greet them, were less hyper about it. "Anyways, these are my Pokemon. This is Water, Quake, Thunder, Blitz, Aero and Fire!" She pointed to each Pokemon as she introduced them, each one nodding and giving a response of some sort. Then, finally, when Gracio introduced himself, she nodded "Pleased to meet you. I'm Akira Mikan"
Once the two had shook hands, Glacio had realized that the Tepig, Fire was his name, was of a different colouration than what he remembered, and after taking a moment to actually recall his somewhat brief experience with the Tepig species, Glacio had realized that the Tepig was what was commonly referred to as a Shiny Pokemon, and World Wide, they were somewhat common as there was one for roughly every ten thousand Pokemon on the planet, and each person generally had a few Pokemon,so yeah. Glacio was somewhat jealous, though he was still rather pleased with his not entirely present diverse party members in both types and personalities.
Mega was shy and Chompers was arrogant, but also rather protective of its first, previously mentioned friend. Gaia was rather brave, also in contrast to Shadow's rather shy personality and Cecil's careful nature. Needless to say, Glacio's Pokemon were very protective of each other and him. And showing Chompers' arrogance, he had hopped down from Glacio's head and walked up to each of Akira's Pokemon, lightly and somewhat playfully karate chopping her Pokemon on their heads.( Think of it like he is booping all of them) This was Chompers' arrogant way of proclaiming he was better than all of them, though that was a completely one sided thought as Glacio knew Chompers was strong, but he was nowhere near invincible.
Mega, as shy as he was, followed Chompers, observing what he did, and after Chompers had booped some of Akira's Pokemon, he had rubbed up against them like a cat rubbed against their owner's leg, so despite being shy, Mega was rather friendly. Shadow, Shadow hadn't really had any time to grow on the team, though he was still happy and had cheered up significantly since their initial encounter, so instead of his generally sad face that Ghastlys tended to make, Shadow had a slight smile to his dark purple face.
And interested in the Second human that Glacio had known of that this ghastly had met, the Ghastly had floated slowly towards Akira, hoping to greet her in a closer manner, though instead of chopping or rubbing like the previous two, he just stood still, floating roughly a foot away from Akira, waiting for her to pet him. With all of this, Glacio had said," I think they like you Akira."
