General Rules
Read the rules, and I mean all of them. I know there's a lot of them, and it's a pain to read all of it, but they're there for reason. If you end up getting in trouble because you didn't know something was against the rules, you'll only have yourself to blame.
Be respectful. If your character is rude by nature, that's fine, but keep it IC. You're entitled to your opinion, but I expect you to respect everyone else's as well. And for the love of Arceus, no filling the cbox with unnecessary drama and/or pointless arguments. Take that bullshit someone else, 'cause I ain't got time for that.
Don't argue with a staff member. If they tell you to do/that you can't do something, then that's it. There will usually be a reason for it, so please don't get all bent out of shape about it. And if you absolutely must defend yourself, then do it in a PM, and be as respectful as possible. Don't go on a tirade in the cbox
No spamming. Avoid double-posting (posting in a thread more than once in a row) as much as possible, and stay on subject.
Word Limits. I personally don't like them, but I also find them to be a necessary evil. Like Profile histories. Therefore, this site does have one. But, for the sake of keeping things simple, it's only 100 words. Of course, you're more than welcome to make longer posts.
I don't mind a little swearing, but don't go dropping F-bombs simply for the sake of dropping F-bombs. Try to keep in mind that there might be someone who is offended by such language. Same goes with sexuality. If you want your character to do the Horizontal Boogie with another member's character, then by all means. But save the explicit details for PM and fade to black in the actual thread.
No posting in the RP area until your profile has been approved. If your profile hasn't been moved, then it hasn't been approved. It's that simple. You're free to post in any of the OOC threads, though.
Have fun. This is meant to be a form of entertainment, so don't take it too seriously, and just have a good time.
Roleplay Rules
Be as realistic as possible. I know this is set in a world where animals run around breathing fire and shooting electricity from their bodies, but there should be at least some level of realism. For example, unlike the anime, a person would not be able to take a point blank Flamethrower to the face and emerge only slightly charred but otherwise fine. They would die...quite painfully, I might add. So yeah.
I shouldn't have to say this, but no God-modding or Powerplaying. Godmodding is when you make yourself, or in this case, your Pokemon, out to be invincible, or otherwise far more powerful than it logically should be. Powerplaying is when you make a post where you basically control someone else's character without their permission. Both of those are big no-nos.
This forum uses Liquid Time. This means that you're allowed to be in more than one place at once. Of course, this does not mean what <insert character name> experiences in Thread A is at the same exact time that they are experiencing something in Thread B. Thread A comes first, then Thread B. As such, do your best to avoid contradictions when making multiple threads.
Application Rules
Please, please, please avoid making a Mary Sue. No one is perfect, your character should have some sort of flaw. If you somehow don't know what a Mary Sue is, then click here for more details. Seriously people. Mary Sues are not welcome here.
This one isn't so much a rule as it is a personal request. However, I would much prefer it if we kept the ultra-dark pasts full of rape, abuse, and/or murder to a minimum. It's not that I have anything against them. Hell, I've been known to make some pretty dark characters myself. Still, this is a Pokemon RP set at an academy for teenagers. Even if a lot of Pokemon RPs tend to be a bit darker and edgier compared to the most of the series as whole, having a teenage assassin who's out to take revenge on the person responsible for the brutal slaughter of their parents and/or little sister seems a tad out of place for this kind of setting. Basically, what I'm saying is, I don't mind the occasional dead parent or dark secret...just try not to go overboard.
You may not role play a canon character from any Pokemon series. Using them as face claims is also not allowed, since this is taking place in the same universe as the main game series. And, lastly, having your character related to a canon character in any way isn't allowed. So yeah.
One character per account, and the user name for each account must be your character's name. If you decide you don't want a character anymore, then delete the account and make a new one.
Please link your character's profile in your signature after it has been accepted and moved. It makes it easier on everyone if you do so. Do the same for your PC once you have it set up.
Changing your face claim after the character has been accepted is generally not allowed, so, when you make your character, make sure you know for sure who you want to use. However, if you have a really good reason as to why you absolutely must change it, then go ahead and PM me. I might make an exception.
When you make an account, please sign up with your actual birthday, and not your characters'. Especially since we've got the whole "birthday Pokemon" thing going. It's just going to cause confusion if you don't.
Due to how the school itself is set up, students are not allowed to bring outside Pokemon into the academy with them. They must obtain them from the lab.
This last one is another that is more of a personal request than an actual rule. When naming your character, please don't give them the same name as their face claim. I mean...seriously, not even I'm that lazy...which is kinda saying a lot, 'cause I can be pretty damn lazy when i want to be. But I digress. If you absolutely must name your character after their face claim, then I suppose won't stop you. However, just know that I will be silently judging you.
