Hoshiko dabbed her eyes softly with a small piece of cotton, removing the remnants of her previous advice session. Usually she didn't let the sob stories she encountered get to her, but man... something about poor Ami's situation really struck something in her. Having to come out to parents who were more right wing than a Fearow's actual right wing... it reminded her all to well of her own encounter with such a situation. The look on her father's face.
But, as usual, this was no time for idling. The copper-haired woman had to be bright and cheerful for her next meeting, otherwise the effectiveness of her counselling would be compromised, right? Then again she didn't exactly have much hard proof that her sessions actually helped anyone, considering the one's she helped didn't exactly report back to her... whether their situation had turned out good or bad was often left to hearsay... and Hoshiko didn't trust hearsay. Not one bit.
She glanced quickly at her appointment book and was forced to double take. A meeting with the Headmistress? Surely that was simply a little joke she had written to herself after a night out. Had to be. There was no way that she had actually booked herself to see the Headmistress. And yet as she racked her brains, she distinctly remembered writing this appointment down. Then it hit her. She most definitely had asked Miss Valeria for an appointment in a sort of heat of the moment deal. Damn her instincts.
The Headmistress had been looking rather gloomy as she walked down the corridor last week, so Hoshiko had, instinctively, asked her if she wanted an appointment to speak to her, mistaking her for a student considering how hot and tired she had been at the time. Oh dear... this was bad.
Still, no need to delay right? Even if she hadn't meant to book the appointment, she'd damn well turn up to it on time and as her bright and happy self. No use sullying her honour over a small mistake. Maybe the Headmistress did need someone to talk to. Actually she doubted that... but still, she would not begrudge a fellow female in peril!
And then she found herself at the Headmistress' door. And all of the prior confidence drained from her body at the first knock on the door.
Geez, great start Hoshiko...
