The slightly overcast sky was threatening rain, though not anytime in the near future. However, it had been the sky, coupled with an energy in Jenny that was only seen when the promise of moisture hung heavy in the air, that had driven the young woman back towards the house where she had stayed ever since she signed up to become a teacher of Falling Star Academy. Jenny, a Swampert, was next to her, plodding along a little less solidly than normal. It was odd, that the two of them, Pokémon and trainer, were so close when Kathy was less than fond of what Jenny loved most, but somehow they managed to make it work.
The young teacher's hair sat in a low ponytail, evidence that she had been off exploring today, her backpack slung over her shoulders, laptop in hand. While she never socialized with her fellow teachers much, this would not have been an uncommon sight. Kathy often went out and about around the island, though it was never clear if she wanted to explore, wanted to get out of her house, or if she just wanted to get away from other people. Admittedly, with the students out there wandering the island there was a relatively good change of running into one of them, but at least you got the feeling that you were out in the middle of nowhere.
Given rain damaged electronics it always brought her back to her house. She hated it when her laptop or other various pieces of technology got damaged. She glanced up at the sky, pausing in her trek to the house, as if trying to gauge how long it would be before she was grounded to her house again. It wasn’t that she disliked staying in her house; she just didn’t like the feeling of being STUCK inside her house. She liked the ability to go places, if not always actually going places.
She sighed and shook her head slightly, knowing rain was necessary, and trying not to hope that it didn’t come. Nothing could grow or thrive without rain, but it was none the less a nuisance to her. She pulled out her hair tie and began to braid her hair, still staring at the sky. She didn’t even notice when Jenny shifted from her side, a sure sign that someone or something was approaching. Jenny trusted very few people with her trainer, and only slightly more Pokémon. As a result, it was sometime remarkably difficult to get within five feet of Kathy, particularly without Kathy knowing. It took a minute, but finally Kathy looked back down, and over towards where Jenny was in order to see who or what was there.
