Falling Star Academy is set on a man-made island, which is quite large. With it's various types of land and climates, it is able to host a wide variety of Pokemon from several regions making it an ideal place for people who want to become a trainer, but don't quite have the confidence or motivation to explore an entire region. The many different biomes allow one to do plenty of exploration while not having to go very far, and will hopefully get them used to the idea of actually traveling through a region one day. The most notable feature of the island itself is that it is actually in the shape of a five-pointed star. Valeria Saren, who established the Academy and serves as the headmistress, named it "Falling Star Academy" because she likes to think of the academy as a place that grants the wishes of its various students...just like how people occasionally make a wish when they see an actual falling star.
In what is known as the Central Area, the main school building and staff dormitories are located. With the possible exception of the Alpina Ruins, the school is easily the largest building on the island. A Pokemon Lab is also located here, and is it there that students will go to receive their starter Pokemon.
There are also five dorms, each one representing one of the five Japanese elements, and located in a different area of the island. There's the Air Dorm to the north, the Water Dorm to the south, the Fire Dorm to the east, the Earth Dorm to the southeast, and, finally, the Void Dorm to the southwest.

[ Party of Pokemon: Totodile, and Aron] [Seeking: Gligar, Golett, Phanphy, Larvitar, Trapinch, and Gible, Ground types in general]
It hadn't been too terribly long since Glacio had joined up a few weeks into the school year, and everything was faring seemingly well enough. He had met some dorm mates and had started bonding with his pokemon Chompers and Mega rather well. Chompers was still mildly arrogant, though a little more respectful towards the general populace, and still had a thing for attaching himself to Glacio's head, which Glacio didn't really mind. Mega, Mega had shown some changes, though it was just primarily due to Glacios exposing him to the public by letting his Pokemon walk with him to and from places. So Mega had become a little less shy, and finally after some actual bonding had been done, Glacio had decided to try to see how much their bonding had improved as well as extending the family. Aile was determined to catch another Pokemon.
So, after some internal debating and comparing information, Glacio had decided to go to the Salix caverns as there seemed to be an abundant amount of rather interesting Pokemon, though primarily ground types, which was something he needed to help balance out his general team. So, he had waded the seemingly worn path to the bottom of the slanted wall, which he would then have to Climb. So to reduce anyone from getting hurt, Glacio had withdrawn Chompers, and went to withdraw Mega, only to barely see him in front of the cave's entrance. And thus, he had climbed the wall, and had walked into the entrance of the cave, sending out Totodile, while following Mega who had seemingly walked around as if he actually knew this place.
After a few twists and turns down the various cave path ways, Glacio and Chompers were struggling to keep up with the surpassingly fast little Aron, who was scurrying through as though he were excited about something, before Glacio had piped up, sounding rather out of breath, "MEGA, wa-wait up little buddy. I'm not as fast as you seem to be in caves, so wait up." With that, Mega had pulled to a stop, turning around towards Glacio, waiting for him to catch up.
After finally catching up to the little Mega, Glacio had looked around to see if there was anything worth while around on the ground, but unfortunately there was nothing really on the ground aside from rocks. So, seeing as there was really nothing worth of importance on the ground, Glacio had decided to move on with Mega and Chompers now following him, again, though Mega was walking along side Glacio, as though still trying to lead him somewhere. And surprisingly there weren't a lot of Pokemon around in the caves so far.
Though after walking around some more, Glacio had spotted a Zubat, and thought about catching it, but had quickly decided against it, as he was in the cave looking for some ground types. So the small party had walked past the the little Zubat, in search of something remotely close to what he was looking for. Though if it came down to it, he was going to leave here with something, and at least try to be happy about it.
So as they continued to walk, Mega had slowly started speeding up, only to slow down occasionally, now aware that everything wasn't as fast as it was on the hard ground.
As the small trio had walked, Glacio kept realizing that there weren't that many Pokemon around for some reason and decided to keep pushing deeper until Glacio had found one that he believed had met his criteria. So they walked and walked, sometimes seemingly in circles, while other times, the pathway had been seemingly new to him, and somewhat new to Mega, with Chompers just walking around with the group, kind of waddling and bouncing at the same time for some reason. Maybe he was excited about something, or maybe he knew that for once, his arrogance was somewhat correctly placed in his abilities, since he was most likely one of the only water Pokemon in the area.
Though, after again walking around, the group had come across one Pokemon that Glacio had never really seen before and to verify the Pokemon, he had pulled out his Pokedex to get a reading on the floating Pokemon, and it had finished its reading with a loud ding, saying the Pokemon was a Nosepass, and it was a rock type Pokemon. But when Glacio had looked up from his Pokedex, it had disappeared, maybe it was afraid of the noise the Pokedex had made. And to a degree it had somewhat disheartened Glacio as the Pokemon had seemingly become scarce and he had not come across any of the type he was looking for.
So the group trudged on through the cave, with Glacio now making a small vow to himself that he was going to at least try to catch the next Pokemon he saw, since he didn't want to leave without anything nor did he want to stay in the cave over night since he had a feeling that it was getting late.
After walking sometime again, the trio had finally come across another Pokemon, which Glacio had intended to catch this time, but still wanted to make sure what type this Pokemon was just to make sure. So he pulled out his Pokedex and started scanning the Pokemon, and when it was done, the Pokedex had classified it as Hippopotas, which was coincidently a ground type. Though the wild Pokemon had heard the dinging of the Pokedex and started approaching the young trainer, unfortunately making Glacio lose the lovely element of surprise. In turn, Glacio withdrew Chompers, for a good reason. He wanted to help Mega become more confident, though that would be near impossible to achieve if Glacio had alway tried to get the easy way out. So, while Chompers would have been the better Pokemon to use for battle, Glacio has chosen Mega.
Once the white haired male had withdrawn the Totodile, the Hippopotas had started its attack of the little Aron, using BITE, effectively latching onto Mega's head, causing Mega to freak out, running around in circles, trying to get the Hippopotas off of its head. After a few moments, the wild Pokemon had let go, leaving Mega free, calming down almost immediately. After this had happened, Glacio had called out to the Aron, " Mega, use Iron Defense!!" And in confirmation with what Glacio had asked, Mega had squealed its name, ARIIN, before coating itself with a shiny, silver like metal. In response to that, the Hippopotas had attempted to use TAKE DOWN on Mega only to be surprised for several reasons.
Right before the Hippopotas had hit Mega, he lodged his little feet into the ground, actually causing the Hippopotas to take most of the rejected force of the attack, but also as the attack had connected, Mega had opened his mouth, starting to produce a little ball of white light, almost along the same thought pattern as Glacio. As this had happened, Glacio had cried out, " MEGA, USE METAL BURST!!!" Which was followed by Mega-Ton shooting the Hippopotas in the face point blank with the ball of white light, though to Glacio's forgetting, steel type attacks didn't do much to a ground type Pokemon.
So once the wild Pokemon had shaken off the the dizziness from the recoil, it had used DIG, burrowing itself underneath the ground, and also removing itself from Mega's view. With this, Mega had started to get scared, and anxious. Glacio had tried to calm the little Aron down, but he wasn't reaching his little Pokemon, and only once the Pokemon had calmed down, the Hippopotas had hit it with DIG, causing Mega to cry out in pain, even with the reinforced skin. The battle had drug on longer than Glacio had originally expected it to, and since Mega was hurt, he decided to finish it now instead of later.
Glacio had withdrawn the now near fainted Mega, and had sent out Chompers, who for once, had correctly placed arrogance. The Hippopotas had tried to BITE the newly sent out Pokemon, only for Chompers to avoid the wild Pokemon completely, and upon Glacio yelling for the use of ICE FANG, bit the Hippopotas on its side with the quickly formed, ice reinforced bite.
The Hippopotas had then tried TAKE DOWN, catching Chompers by suprise, causing the Totodile to fall back a few feet. Now also determined to end this, due to the recently inflicted pain, Totodile had used WATER GUN without even waiting for Glacio to call out the next attack, bringing the Hippopotas to fall over onto its side. With this Glacio had said to Chompers and the withdrawn Mega, "YES, FINALLY!!! Good job you two. Now to catch this bad boy." And with that, Glacio had pulled a Pokeball out of his back pack and threw it at the Hippopotas in hopes of catching it.
